Raven turned 16!

I can't believe I have an official 16 year old! We had a great birthday at home, Raven wanted to have a bbq and her favorite nothing bundt cake. Then on Saturday the 19th we had a birthday party! Girls, boys, food, music and lots of fun, oh and don't forget the chaperons! I think we all had a blast and everyone went home full of sugar and definitely tired! Raven has grown into an amazing young woman and loves drill team, reading, texting and driving her mom crazy! Soon the driving part will be coming, sometimes I am so ready for the help but then I don't want to see my baby on the road behind the wheel! I love my little Raven!

December was a very busy month! With lots of things to do we got an early start with the family Christmas party normally held on the 24th was changed to the first because of our theme. The theme was the sights, sounds and smells of Christmas. It is always interesting what everyone thinks Christmas is! Next years theme is Natural. I know it can go many ways being a natural theme so it should be a good one!

Here are just a couple of the party- it is too hard to get everyone to sit still!

Next was Savannah's first concert, she plays the violin and is the one with her head turned because she did not want me to take her picture. The concert was good and I am proud of her!
Next thing on our busy December calendar was to see the Messiah. It was really cool seeing the church perform our Saviors birth it was a great reminder of what he did for us.

This is suppose to be a picture of Raven doing her drill thing but my camera was having issues and I got the back of her head :( Oh well at least I did get to see it in person!
We took the kids one night to the Pro Bass shop. Really it was cool to see all the Christmas decorations and to mess around with the stuff set up at the store! Brissa and Hailey were being goofy in this pic at the store. They never get tired of me taking pics!

On Christmas eve Frank met with some friends and took the kids to see the Christmas set up at the Bellago. I was not able to go because I was making my grandmother beautiful for Christmas day! The gang had lots of fun and I was glad they all made it home safe and sound!
This was just a few of the things that kept us busy during the holiday month! We had a great month and I am very grateful for everything everyone did for our family. We have truly felt the blessings of our Savior and the love of our friends and families! We hope everyone enjoyed their Christmas holiday as much as did. Tomorrow the children go back and I am glad to be able to take a holiday from them and the busy that kept me going! Soon the Christmas pics and New Years Eve!!!

I am Thankful

I am thankful for my wonderful husband. I probably do not
let him know enough how much I love him and am so grateful
that he is here with us! I am more in love with him today
then when we first married, he is the love of my life!

I love his playful side too-he is trying to look like Alex here but
I think he needs more hair and definitely more curls!
I am so Thankful for my Frankie!

Brissa turns 7!

I can't believe my baby turned 7! She is getting
to be so big! This is her first big party and she
enjoyed every minute!

Since her birthday is the day before Halloween
we had a Halloween themed party! The kids
dressed up and came to have some fun!

I think bobbing for apples was the big hit for
all the kids- any opportunity to get wet!
Only a couple of kids actually got the apples out
of the water with their mouths.

for my little girl!

The young women in our ward toured the fire house as one of our activities, Cheryl is being tested to see how alive she is! At least the guy was cute!

My mini van was attacked by the girls in my class, it wasn't hard to figure out who it was since they left there phone number on my car! It was fun though to see that they like me enough to pick on me! I feel the love :)

During the month of July Frank's brother came for a visit. We love hanging with them as we do not get to see them often. We did the local stuff like dinner, shark reef and just hanging out in at the house in the cool AC!

The last day of school for the girls!

Savannah graduated from the 5th grade! Savannah and her friend Olivia
were so excited to finally be done with elementary school!

The day after school was out was Madilyn's birthday! We celebrated by going to
the North pole. The exhibit was at the mall and in this pic the girls were trying
to see how much their weight would be compared to that of a polar bear. The three
girls only weigh as much as a year old polar bear.

This one the girls pretended they were penguins they had so much fun going
down this little slide on their bellies it was hard to get them to stop.

More celebrating with ice cream and a surprise visit from some friends.

This is the cake I made for her party which we did a movie night and
watched Alice in Wonderland with 22 of Madilyn's friends!

Busy May

May is a busy month! Madilyn and her friend Megan
both earned awards for the end of the school year.
We were proud of the accomplishments Madilyn
did all school year.

This is the cake my awesome husband made for the young woman's
camp fundraiser. I would have to say that this is the best tasting
mousse cake ever! My husband is very talented and I'm glad he's mine :)

This is the cake I made inspired by a blog I saw. My sister and I worked on it
for four hours. It was a lot of fun and I thought it was one of the cutest
cakes ever!

Savannah (who doesn't look happy) played the steel drums for art night at the school
She is amazing and loves to play the drums. I can't believe how grown up she is becoming
This was her last year at elementary school she is going to love middle school!

Last but not least we celebrated my birthday! Dinner and a movie with my man
is the best present ever! The dinner and movie were good too, we ate at PF Chang's
and saw Iron Man 2. Oh and I am 29 and loving it !)

My mom has an annual Easter dinner at her home with egg hunts for the kids. The best part about hunting for the eggs is that mom/grandma hides money in the eggs. This year she hid 3 ten dollar bills! Now only the kids 12 and under were allowed to hunt and the older kids only got to carefully choose 2 eggs without touching, shaking or anything-if they touched it was theirs! It was a ton of fun and over 600 eggs for the kids to find! The lunch and time spent with my family was great- we are always so busy it's hard to get us all together! Only one brother and his family were not there- they live in Kansas- we hope they had a great easter too. It was lots of fun though! I love all the work my mom puts into everything she does- she always amazes me- I love you mom!

Easter morning at the Canez home started at 6 am with the pitter patter of Madilyn's feet soon followed by Brissa! An hour later came the sound of Savannah finally getting out of bed. The two teenagers slept for another hour then they decided to grace us with there presence but by then I had put the camera away. Lots of candy was consumed by these three!

Raven turns 15!

On March 10 my baby girl turned 15 and she has already started on the countdown to getting her license. That will be a sad day for me! For her birthday we went to dinner at applebe's . Came home and opened up some presents then had the best cake ever! It was a nothing bundt cake with white chocolate and raspberry- it was to die for! I can't believe how grown up she is becoming- gone are the days when she held my had and wanted nothing but toys for her birthday! Now it's texts from boys and a few kisses too. Love my lil girl! Happy Birthday - quotes the Raven "many more!"

Lied Discovery Museum

On Friday the kids were invited to the Discovery museum for Meagan's birthday. The kids had so much fun exploring and trying everything out. The favorite thing to do is the tornado tube and playing with the bubbles. We had so much fun no one wanted to go home! We will have to go there again soon.

Presidents Day

Presidents day and the kids are out of school-what do we do? Gather some friends together and go to Red Rock for some exploring. The kids had a good time climbing the rocks and finding new things to see. The last trail we did led us to a waterfall. The last time we were at the waterfall there was not much water but thanks to all the rain and snow in the mountains there was a nice little waterfall going. The kids climbed all around and had a good time.

Disney on Ice

Our favorite thing to do in January is to go see the Disney on ice show and this year was Tinkerbell and meet the princesses. Brissa was so into the show and seeing Cinderella and the new princess Tiana. That was such a fun night with my girls!

Grandpa

Today was my grandfather's funeral, he was 81 when he left his earthly home to join family members that have already passed on. He will be missed but has a great legacy that follows him. My grandfather had 8 children, 62 grandchildren and 64 great grandchildren! It is amazing when we are together. I love my grandfather and I hope to see him and my dad soon!.

Disneyland!

We waited a long time to visit Disneyland- it was so worth it! Brissa enjoyed talking with Tinkerbell and we all enjoyed ridding the tea cups! Our first ride was the Alice in Wonderland ride it was so cute!!! In tomorrow land we rode the Honey I Shrunk the audience ride we all loved it! We all had such a good time just sad that Maddy and I were sick so we left the park before the fireworks but we stayed there for about nine hours. I would love to do it again but maybe when it's not so cold outside!

Christmas at Knotts!

We love Knotts Berry Farm! We were surprised after we left the beach to see that we could get into Knotts for only $15! The kids wanted to go so we went and spent a few hours because after the sun went down it was so cold and we were not prepared! We went out to dinner and then the hotel for some zzzz's. We wanted to be rested up for Disneyland!

We went to the beach for Christmas! We had so much fun but it was cold! We were almost the only ones on the beach- the kids found sea shells and ran around. We stayed for about an hour when we could not stand being cold any longer then left for some more California adventures!

Halloween 09

Halloween time is here! We have already started our trick or treating. The Clark County Museum has an awesome scary and safe treating for the kiddos. My girls love going there. We hung out most of the night at the costume contest area after getting some treats. The girls wanted to win the contest but it was hard when the judges knew who they were:) Savannah was Alice Cullen-easiest costume ever! Brissa was a lil Devil and Madilyn was Dorothy I love her pic with the wicked witch!

We visited temple square while we were in Utah. We loved visiting the temple and and doing the tours. Frank loved looking up his ancestors while we were there.

Kids soaking their feet in the cold water of Bridal Veil Falls. The water was so cold the kids did not stay in long. We spent a whole day at Lagoon in Utah. Utah knows how to do things right from the ginormous snow cones to the awesome ride called Wicked.

Tucson Zoo

We visited the Tucson Zoo for Raven's birthday. We love going and enjoyed looking at the animals. It was a perfect day to be in Tucson just hanging out with the family. Raven had a great Birthday doing some of our favorite things like eating eegees, visiting the zoo, going to bookmans, and eating more eeges! Can't wait to go back again!

Peep's

This is my kids favorite dessert! We make smore's out of peeps. The kids love watching the peep get really big! The longer we leave the peep in the microwave the bigger it gets and sometimes the head splits open. None of the peeps brains came out this time and the kids were a little disappointed but they devoured them just the same!

Red Rock Fun

We took and spent the morning at Red Rock the kids had lots of fun in just this one area with my sisters kids. My friend Robin and her family were there too and we just had lots of fun exploring this one area. We can't wait to go again and spend the whole day!
